Welcome!

WE ARE THRILLED TO SHARE THE BROWN BARN TAVERN WITH YOU AND LOOK FORWARD TO MEETING YOU ON YOUR VISIT.

About Brown Barn Tavern

Housed in a historic and lovingly restored former cattle barn overlooking the rolling hills of Alpine Valley in Munson Township, Brown Barn Tavern celebrates all things local and authentic. Punctuating the rustic, all-American gastropub ambiance are soaring 30-foot ceilings with rough-hewn beams, hand-made live edge tables and a loft space for parties that was once the barn’s hay loft.

Featured Specials & Events

We appeal to every palate with tantalizing daily dining specials.  Chicken Paprikash with homemade spaetzle on Wednesday, Smoked Bacon Wrapped Meatloaf on Thursday, Saltine Cracker-encrusted Haddock and Seafood Fettucini Alfredo on Friday, Braised Short Rib on Saturday, and Smoked Baby Back Ribs with Maple-Bourbon BBQ Sauce on Sunday. We also throw the occasional wine dinner or beer tasting on a seasonal basis.

A few of our signature dishes that have become best-sellers on the from-scratch menu include the Chicken Fried Chicken, which is marinated in buttermilk then flash-fried, served with red pepper velouté, roasted garlic mash, frizzled scallions and apple-jalapeno slaw; Tavern Steak Tips topped with garlic mushrooms, caramelized onions and a burgundy wine demi, served with roasted garlic mash and vegetables; and the Barn Bacon Burger, featuring a 7-ounce Angus beef patty topped with applewood smoked bacon, caramelized onions, sharp cheddar and maple-chipotle aioli on a toasted brioche bun.

Brunch is really a celebration of gracious dining. On Saturdays from noon to 3 p.m. and Sundays from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., we invite you to join us and stay awhile. Dishes range from savory (Chicken & Waffles, Huevos Rancheros and Barn Avocado Toast) to sweet (Belgian Waffles topped with berries and locally sourced syrup). Nothing complements brunch fare better than a classic cocktail. Don’t miss our Barn Bloody Mary with infused vodka garnished with a hefty skewer of pepperoni, salami, olives, cheddar and pepper jack cheeses, and a lemon wedge, or four refreshing flavors of Mimosas—orange, cranberry, grapefruit and pineapple. This just might turn into your favorite meal of the day!
